Review the survey results for the full picture. Stephen Brunt also addresses the CFL’s strategy for dealing with an NFL incursion into Toronto. And yet, despite those who believe the doomsday bell has already rung, some believe the CFL will endure. #

The Star’s Kelly’s Cup series this week is supposed to, “In the interest of getting Toronto off its high horse…”, take “readers on (Kelly’s) own ride around the festivities.” Instead it has spent the much of time mocking the CFL, the teams, the festivities and the visitors to Toronto. A reformed cynic, I know it so much easier to put down and mock instead of building up, but wonder why the Star thought a series of this tone would be of any value to their city’s Grey Cup hosting efforts? #

With reporters from around the country descending on Regina, you have to wonder why this is such a big deal? Hopefully the focus can be on the game and not on theories of how the ‘Rider fortunes mirror those of the province. Read their stories: Cam Cole, Mark Spector, George Johnson, Vicki Hall, Al Maki and Donna Spencer, among others. #

Not good, but I wondered if this was coming since the dates and times were announced. I would expect the West Semi-Final to be pushed up three hours and the East Semi-Final to be played after. Games are now scheduled for 1PM and 4PM local (2PM and 5PM Eastern), eliminating the extra 30 minutes between games that has been highly publicized. When the CFL tries to do the right thing, they always miss a small detail that comes back to get them. #

Finding and identifying talent seems to be the problem with Hamilton, so hopefully the new GM will keep some continuity by sticking with Charlie Taaffe and his coaching staff and build around what already exists. #

Whoops! Better late than never, but you have to wonder how the league can announce the All-Star teams without the numbers being double checked by at least two different people. To make the correction after three days of the media and fans questioning the West place kicker position makes the new voting process which includes a fan vote seem a little suspicious. #

Similar sentiments in Regina after the playoff game sold out. Why do fans feel so entitled to tickets just for making an effort? There is a limit to the number of seats and you take your chance when the demand is there. Unfortunately, in Toronto where more fans need exposure to the Argos, they could not get everyone in, but creating demand by limiting supply is one way to ensure ticket buyers do not always wait until the last game of the season. #

Good move. This will quiet down the media rhetoric about a move being imminent and the backlash from the NFL in Canada story. #
