Speaking of CFL Windbags…
October 31, 2007 7:35 PM
… I just posted on the Buffalo Bills and Toronto story. It is hard to not come off as a crazy, biased, CFL windbag and I am afraid I failed. #Holding Call “Technically” Correct
October 31, 2007 7:32 PM
Not the best response to this controversy. Just say as an event that did not affect the outcome of the play, it shouldn’t have been called in that situation and the official is being disciplined within league guidelines. #Eskimos Upset Over Holding Flag
October 28, 2007 10:05 PM
Andre Proulx has been involved in three of the most media visible officiating incidents this year. It will be interesting to see if his crew works any playoff games this year. That will say the most about whether the CFL supports his calls or not. #Grey Cup Odds
October 23, 2007 6:31 PM
Toronto has best odds in East, significantly higher than Winnipeg and Saskatchewan in the West. These aren’t official Vegas odds, but interesting none the same. #Asper Pitches Comfy Seats
October 23, 2007 6:28 PM
It seems Winnipeggers are happy to turn over the franchise to private ownership if it is the only way to get a new stadium with comfy seats and cup holders. #Even More Commentary on Bills to Toronto
October 20, 2007 10:01 AM
To summarize, Goodell: NFL won’t hurt Canadian brand, Brunt: Bills show up unannounced, Toronto holds key to Bills future (from Buffalo News), Braley warns of Rogers backlash, and Popp: CFL doesn’t need Toronto to survive. #More Theories on Bills to Toronto
October 19, 2007 3:51 PM
Everything from the above ‘end of the CFL’, to will never happen to an outright kooky theory. #CFL Playoff Start Times
October 18, 2007 6:44 PM
Interestingly, I participated in a CFL Nation poll this week in which playoff start times were included in the questioning. More interesting is that fact that the announced times do not correspond to any of the options presented; they were all 3 hours apart. I did not even provide written feedback about giving the games an extra half hour between (I had other things to comment on); obviously other people did and the CFL listened. #Bills Eye Toronto
October 18, 2007 6:39 PM
I would be amiss if I did not link to this development. I will reserve comment until the story further runs its course. #Kravitz to Headline 2007 Grey Cup Halftime
October 17, 2007 4:54 PM
Better than Nickelback, but not by much. #‘Riders, Tillman, Austin Fined for Comments
October 17, 2007 4:53 PM
By failing to address to the ultimate question the CFL is returning to the good ol’ times of the dictator league offices where there is one line and everyone must tow it. Without an attempt at explaining on-field incidents and subsequent penalties the league only promotes the idea that they have no acceptable response. #Avoiding Football Pick Scams
October 16, 2007 5:08 PM
Recognizing that anyone selling you who will absolutely win a game is the first and only step to avoiding scams. Suprisingly, people still fall for it. So much so, it is an industry in its own. Remember, the eighth circle of Hell is reserved for the Fraudulent. #NHL Players to Test Heated Blades
October 16, 2007 4:56 PM
Seems to be very short-sighted of the NHL to look at technology like this when player size and speed is one of the problems affecting the league in rinks the same size as they were years ago. MLB doesn’t allow alluminum bats, but the NHL is going to put batteries in skate blades. That shows who believes in tradition and who wants to be the first Baseketball. #Toronto’s NFL Desire Exposed
October 13, 2007 11:10 AM
…Toronto needs the NFL a helluva lot more than the NFL needs Toronto!
- Bob Stauffer
I say some people in Toronto want the NFL a helluva lot more than the NFL needs Toronto. Being the nerd invited to the dance for a laugh is better than not being invited at all for Toronto I guess. #Flyers’ Boulerice Suspended 25 Games
October 12, 2007 5:27 PM
Flyers’ forward Jesse Boulerice was suspended 25 games by the NHL for a “senseless” cross-check to Vancouver’s Ryan Kessler’s jaw. Boulerice’s actions were nothing but cowardly; cross-checking a player to the face and preparing to drop the gloves as he crumples to the ice. #Kick For $1 Million Contestant Determined
October 11, 2007 5:17 PM
Does this contest give you any greater reason to watch the game and the halftime show this Friday? #Cuthbert, Suitor To Call Grey Cup Radio Broadcast
October 10, 2007 6:37 PM
That sound? The sound of 4 million Canadians muting CBC and turning on the radio. #Keep NFL out of T.O.
October 6, 2007 1:52 PM
While the intent is honourable, portraying the attitude the CFL can’t compete, is on shaky ground and not worthy of anyone’s attention does not help it in battling age old stereotypes. Based on the last 10 years the CFL should be portrayed as a strong, dynamic, vibrant league that the majority of Canadians support and watch. #
