Merry Christmas from Overtime Central

Sunday, December 24th, 2006 by Jon

Overtime Central staff would like to wish all our faithful readers a very Merry Christmas and a safe and enjoyable holiday upon everyone.

During this season, we look back at the previous year and find much for which to be thankful. Besides the increased content and comments on the site, we held two successful CFL contests in 2006. We are very appreciative of our visitors and participants for their support this past year. We are still on schedule to release the new version of Overtime Central, with some direction changes for the site, in the first quarter of 2007. Stay tuned for more at a later date on the changes coming to Overtime Central.

Analyzing the CFL-TSN TV Deal

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006 by Jon

Earlier this week the Canadian Football League announced a new five-year exclusive broadcast and new media rights deal with TSNRDS starting in the 2008 season. The announcement was not a surprise, with the deal speculated on for months prior. Some factors of the deal have lead to questions about what affects a new deal will have on the broadcast landscape and the CFL. A full analysis of what the CFL gained and gave up provides the best tool to decide if this was a good deal.

Songs that deal with sports in some way are not as plentiful as love songs, but there have been a few. I thought it would be a good idea to list our top 6 sports themed songs here.

Introducing Overtime Central Quick Links

Friday, December 1st, 2006 by Jon

Overtime Central is pleased to announce a Quick Links feature. The most recent Quick Links can be found in the sidebar and will display in descending order. A feed is supplied for those that want to track updates through a feed reader.

Quick Links will consist of links to media stories or posts that interest me with a quick commentary on the subject. This will allow for more timely posts of breaking news and stories that I want to bring to the attention of Overtime Central readers. Full posts and Notebook entries will be reserved for longer commentary on topics.

We hope you enjoy this feature and we encourage you to subscribe. This is just one new feature preceding our re-launch coming early next year.
