Wednesday, June 7th, 2006 by Jon

Back in mid-May, CFL.ca launched a slightly updated design with some new features. Now dubbed CFL.ca Network, the redesign improved on some of the areas I criticized with the launch of last year’s redesign.

What Works?

Sunday, June 4th, 2006 by Jon

Last year was our first year running on the new site and it wasn’t without its problems and growing pains. Then in December we switched to a professional host to provide better site availability. Unfortunately, we haven’t had any contests in that timeframe so we come around to the next CFL season and you may expect things to be the same.

Overtime Central FSN Leagues

Saturday, June 3rd, 2006 by Jon

Once again Overtime Central has created leagues on FSN so Overtime Central members can track their progress against other Overtime Central members in the FSN contests.

The league name for both the Pick 10 Challenge and the Pick the Winners contests is OvertimeCentral. The password is cfl2006.

If you haven’t already, get signed up for the FSN CFL contests and join our leagues.

Also, the Official CFL Magazine is holding a CFL Fantasy Footbal Pool this year. Anyone who is not a subscriber but would like an entry form, let us know.

Expect CFL TV Deal Before Christmas → It will be interesting to see how this plays out with games either being sold off or kept. If I was the CFL, I would be looking for a contract whose value increased as more teams were added to reduce the dillution owners are worried about. Not an increase by another team’s share, but another $1 million a year perhaps. Expanding anywhere in the country would certainly increase viewership, so some benefit should come to the CFL before the next negotiation. Otherwise I can see the CFL stagnating on eight teams over franchise fees and reduced shares before they realize to grow the business they need to get into other regions of the country. #
