Goolash Hangs On To Win 2005 CFL Pool

Initial results show Team Goolash hanging on to its 4 point lead coming into the Grey Cup to ward off Green Monster and take the 2005 CFL Pool. Goolash, though failing to score any points in the final week of play, finished first as a result of the poor showing Green Machine Monster had in the final week as well. Green Machine’s Monster’s one point may go down as the greatest all time choke in Overtime Central history when the championship was ripe for the picking.

The mosting dramatic result was Team Swervin’Mervyn, with owner Mervyn Fernandez at the helm for the last week, outperforming all other coaches badly to jump four spots and finish in a respectable 4th place. Now one can only think what might have happened if Fernandez would have been coaching all season. It certainly proves that Fernandez still has it and may be in a lot of people’s sights next season.

Results will be finalized overnight and the official final results released Monday evening.

Also look for a contest wrap up and awards announcement this week as well as reviews of the Grey Cup, CFL Season, ‘Rider’s season and another look at the new NHL in the coming weeks.

Goolash rules!!! Overtime Central is the best. Looking forward to next season. Look for the return of the Goolash.

Did Goolash pay their dues? I don’t know if he should be allowed to win if his dues aren’t paid. What’s the payout for 1st place anyway? Does Jim’s sudden jump mean I got bumped out of 4th place?

Wow! Fastest two comments after a post ever.

Greg – yes it certainly does look like Goolash rules.

Cindy – Yes dues are all paid. If you would look at the standings you would see you fell to sixth place. Payout will be $49 for first, $14 for second and $7 for third. The rest are just losers.

Keep watching the site. Who knows when we will have new posts or exciting news?

Remember people, you’re only as good as your last game.

Greg- My team may have had many lousy weeks, but at least we were never shutout!

Jon- did you notice that you went from Green Monster to Green Machine in your article? He’s hardly a machine.

Cindy- Are you not aware that we released Jim as coach months ago?

I just may decide to retire on a high note.

    Merv

Hamilton Won’t Participate in Bills Games → Bob Young has decided to stand up and say “No!” instead of rolling over. History will judge the outcome, but I can’t criticize him for standing up to the NFL in the heart of “wannabe” country led by the Toronto media. He will be called a poor businessman, but a good one wouldn’t agree to a deal that provides his market (both Hamilton and his season-ticket holder list) with nothing given in return. #
