About Overtime Central

Overtime Central is the development home of the Overtime plugin for WordPress. Overtime Central hosts CFL and NHL fantasy sports contests using the Overtime Plugin. In addition, fantasy sports and other sports topics are discussed on the Overtime Central forums and blog.

I’ve had this domain since 2005, but operated previously online since about 2000 and offline prior to that.

About Overtime

Overtime is a WordPress plugin that turns a WordPress blog into a fantasy sports hub. Utilizing pluggable contest definitions, any sport or fantasy contest type can be created to run in the Overtime framework. Currently in private testing, the Overtime plugin will be released as open source (exact license to be determined) once it is feature complete and stabilized. I expect this to happen by the end of 2007 or early 2008 sometime in the future.

Some of the features of the Overtime WordPress plugin are:

  • Entry summary, standings, prediction/pick and statistics pages.
  • Track results by Segment (Month, Week) and Sub-segment (Week, Day).
  • Private (Password protected) contests.
  • Pluggable contest definitions.
  • Much more!

They Just Don’t Get It → The Star’s Kelly’s Cup series this week is supposed to, “In the interest of getting Toronto off its high horse…”, take “readers on (Kelly’s) own ride around the festivities.” Instead it has spent the much of time mocking the CFL, the teams, the festivities and the visitors to Toronto. A reformed cynic, I know it so much easier to put down and mock instead of building up, but wonder why the Star thought a series of this tone would be of any value to their city’s Grey Cup hosting efforts? #
